Hi Suzanne,

Although you know I no longer get the flu jag, I did however get it for around 5+ years before. I also had the pneumonia jag, and last year the swine flu jag only because I travel lots and was advised to get it. But I really did panic about getting it. All was fine though and I will not be getting this years multi one. Ask Nras for my email address if you want to chat. Lorna x Smile

hi Suzanne

I rang my gp surgery re flu jabs- they said that they are adding a bit of swine flu vaccine to the ordinary flu jab this year, so to be on the safe side I'll leave off the mtx. Of course, there is a down side- as usual with RA this week my bloods showed that the RA is getting active aain, only slightly, but typical- just when I need to take the mx....ah well.....

No the swine flu bit is not in every jab .Was not in mine yesterday depends on docs area .

Dear All

Had my flu jab yesterday and it did contain the swine flu. Apparantly last year's flu jab also contained a small amount of swine flu jab and I also had the separate swine flu jab. Twelve of us had it at work yesterday (they pay for it) and none of us had sore arms and no after affects. I was told to take Methotrexate as usual on Saturday.

I rang today to make an appointment for my flu jab but they've run out of vaccine at the surgery!

hi All,

just thought i'd add a note here,

i had the Flu Jab yesterday ... one of the deciding factors was that i picked up a slight chest infection a couple of weeks ago which showed i am more vunerable now.

i then weighed up in my mind being anxious about having the Jab and being anxious all winter about getting the Flu and the latter one won !!

had no sore arm or overnight temp so feel more confident now for the future about this.

Hello All.

I have just had mine within last hour. It did not hurt . It was done on the top of
my arm just off the shoulder. Never had 1 there before.

Fingers crossed all will be fine

Hi everyone, just been to the surgery for the flu jab, told the nurse I had RA and she asked if I had had the swine flu last year, I said no, so Ive ended up with the swine flu jab in one arm, the pneumonia one in the other and and appointment for 4 weeks time for the seasonal flu one!! Didnt hurt at all, here's hoping theres no nasty side effects.

Hope you are all well.

lots of love

The present flu jab does have swine flu included, but it contains only enough for a "top-up", rather than the full amount you get with the swine-flu vaccine. At least this is what my GP told me.
